ALBUQUERQUE - OVERVIEW AND HISTORY:
If you're looking to rent a property in Albuquerque, you'll be excited to learn that there are plenty of options, whether you want to live in a high rise apartment downtown, or a stone's throw from a park. Culture enthusiasts and history buffs will have their fill of things to see and do, as Albuquerque's roots in Spanish colonialism and Wild West heritage are still readily apparent. Foodies, you haven't been left out - New Mexico's capital is known for one all-pervading question: "Red or green?", as in "Would you like red or green chili on your food?" The choice will place you firmly in one fiercely-beloved camp or the other, so think hard.

ALBUQUERQUE - THE VIBE:
Albuquerque is a very vibrant, open city. The scenery is great, and contrary to what you might have heard, seasons do change here. The nearby Sandia mountains, for instance, offer lots of chances for hikes and picnics in the summer, and just as many opportunities for snowboarding and skiing in the wintertime. One thing renters should be aware of is that Albuquerque is very spread out. This means that wherever you rent, commute times should be factored in. This shouldn't be a huge concern, though, since there is a well-defined public transport network which can get you to most places pretty quickly. The city is also reasonably bike-friendly, especially in areas bordering the University of New Mexico.

ALBUQUERQUE - THE TOP PLACES TO LIVE:
A unique feature of Albuquerque is its tendency to be divided into four quadrants. Although each of these quadrants contain multiple smaller communities, the rental property scene is best viewed through the lens of the overarching quadrant. Read on to learn more about them, including information about a few defining features and communities from each quadrant.

THE NORTHWEST QUADRANT:
The Northwest Quadrant is full of the rich history and culture of Albuquerque. In addition to playing host to the well-preserved neighborhood of Old Town, it also contains the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Residents also enjoy several state parks, malls, and other entertainment venues. There is an airport, and the quadrant itself is comprised of a mix of low and medium income rental areas, as well as a commercial district, including the lion's share of the city's downtown area. As a rule, the further north you go, the higher the rent / income demographic, while those who head west will find themselves in the suburbs.

THE NORTHEAST QUADRANT:
The Northeast Quadrant is where you want to be if you value growth and vitality. This community has been on a growth spurt for the past half-century, and it shows no signs of stopping. It is the largest of the four quadrants, whether you measure by population or simply area. There are plenty of things to do, including visits to several parks, museums, festivals, and the University of New Mexico.

THE SOUTHEAST QUADRANT:
Albuquerque's Southeast Quadrant is almost tailor-made for renters with an active lifestyle. Full of parks, sports venues (including Albuquerque's AAA-league baseball team, the Isotopes), and Kirtland Air Force Base, the neighborhood is rounded out by the exclusive neighborhood of Four Hills on one hand, and somewhat of an urban renaissance on the other. Both private and public schools are available for those with children.

THE SOUTHWEST QUADRANT:
This quadrant is the most rural of the four, and is dominated by the Isleta Indian Reservation. Local communities include Westgate and Los Padillas, among others. Visitors and residents can also enjoy the National Hispanic Cultural Center and the Albuquerque Biological Park.

Albuquerque is a great place to live and work. The only thing missing is you. Check out our rental properties today!
